Production Rates

Production rates are extremely tricky to post. The reason is that production really varies in scope from project to project. It doesn’t make sense to have one rate to produce when you could be a 2-piece acoustic folk duo, or a full rock band with a 5-piece horn section. Some people want to save time and money by moving very quickly, and we can do that. Others want to work at a more comfortable pace, and that’s great too. Steve is used to working in all kinds of situations, and for that reason he really needs to hear about the kind of recording you want to make and will customize a quote based on that information. The best thing to do is to contact Steve here to discuss your project and get the ball rolling.

Have Steve Dawson play on a song or songs remotely. Steve is an award-winning musician with over 100 album credits, and can add acoustic, electric guitars, slide guitar, lap steel, banjo, pedal steel and more to your songs. He will just need a rough mix to track to and a quick discussion of what you’re looking for in the tracks.

Overdub/Musician Rates (including studio, engineering and playing):
$250/song (1-4 songs)
$200/song (5+ songs)

Hire Steve For Mixing

Steve Dawson will take your tracks that are already recorded and mix them through the studio’s API console and analog equipment. World-class converters are used to get the digital audio into the analog realm at which time your song will be mixed through the console, outboard gear and an incredible master bus chain. Prices include 2 revisions free of charge (After that, revisions are charged on an hourly basis). Prices reflect tracks that are complete, more or less edited, etc. If extensive editing is required, there will be additional charges, but that will be determined before he starts - no surprise charges after the fact!
